Following the success of the commercial mission of 25 Mexican businessmen and professionals who visited EXPOBIOMASA in Valladolid at 2017, the Spanish Association of Energy Valorization of Biomass -AVEBIOM- promotes a commercial mission to GUADALAJARA (MEXICO) on the occasion of the fair EXPOFORESTAL. The 9 will be made to the 12 of October of 2018 with the purpose of promoting commercial relations with companies and entities of the sector.
MEXICO is beginning to create supply and demand of biomass for energy use, in fact, dozens of contracts and supplies have already been formalized as a result of the rounds of business developed in Valladolid. The potential for business opportunities is very high, both in the production of biomass and the valorisation of agroforestry and industrial by-products, as well as in electric and thermal generation.
The challenge that Mexicans face in the use of renewables and the management of by-products is key both for their States and for their companies. Mexico seeks to take advantage of its potential of 70 million annual tons of organic, agricultural, livestock and forestry waste; meet its commitments in the fight against climate change and transition to a low-carbon economy, while its economy continues to grow and responds to the needs of its 120 million inhabitants, mostly young people, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography, (INEGI, 2015). The 2012 Climate Change Law aims to reduce emissions by 30% in 2020, compared to 2000. And to generate 35% of electricity with renewable sources in 2024.
