The European Commission intends to promote renewable energy

New European renewable energy plan

The European Commission presented "an action plan for the development of a sustainable and circular bioeconomy at the service of society, the environment and the economy of Europe". Among the three key objectives of said plan, of which fourteen concrete measures are deployed to be implemented in 2019, is the confidence that bioenergy will contribute to reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

The plan presented by the European Commission (EC) aims to "improve and increase the sustainable use of renewable resources to face global and local challenges such as climate change and sustainable development". This is expressed in the press release that presents the document A sustainable bioeconomy for Europe: strengthening the connection between economy, society and the environment.
