Forest biomass, a key element in the energy transition and the circular economy

Es really easy to talk about the circular economy in relation to biomass, and is that I do not think there are many energy technologies that meet the postulates of the circular economy, as biomass does from the mountains or fields, or with the valuation of some by-products of the agri-food industry or others such as forestry , which are used to produce both electric and thermal energy, perfectly comply with these, since after that, the ashes can still be used for the production of fertilizers or even the CO2 leaving the chimneys (CO2 considered neutral by the previous capture in the growth of biomass by photosynthesis), to produce food and even medical gases, closing the circle.

In recent years, there has been a progressive increase of forestry uses related to biomass and this is really good for the health of our forests, because the extraction of forest biomass brings several advantages to the sustainable development of them.

Using biomass from different production processes of agricultural and forestry industries to produce energy puts us in a privileged position, since we are not "waste" managers, but we are valorisers of by-products from other industrial activities or livestock.
