Two hotels in whose rehabilitation has entered the biomass are among those ten best in the delivery of the Re Think Hotel Awards

These awards, driven by the Grupo Habitat Futura, they have as main objective "to promote the sustainable rehabilitation of the hotels through the maximum recognition and promotion of the ten best projects".

One, the hotel-spa Valbuena Monastery in Valladolid, what was visited during the last edition ofExpobiomasa as an example of installation, has switched to renewable energy to improve its environmental and economic performance. The boiler room features two cascaded chip-fed Herz equipment from local suppliers rated at 340 kilowatts (kW) per unit.

Another award winner is GF Victoria of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. As explained on its website, its facilities "have been designed so that the 90 percent of energy consumption is through its own renewable sources."

Two special mentions to other hotels that use biomass

To hotel Intercontinental of Madrid, where they assure that "our latest reforms have an 80 percent of LED lighting, latest generation refrigeration equipment and biomass boilers".

And another mention has been for The Bobadilla to Royal Hideway, located in Loja (Granada), where it uses the olive bone that is collected from its olive groves to feed two boilers of 300 and 400 kW respectively.
