Savings and energy efficiency

In Spain bioenergy mobilizes almost 4.000 million euros between electricity, thermal generation and biofuels for transport. And it is, without a doubt, the renewable energy source that best meets the postulates of the bioeconomy, involving thousands of professionals from different sectors.

Service, financial, communication companies, investment groups, public companies, administrations, professional and business associations promote and participate in many projects in order to implement solutions for both consumers and professionals.

A key sector for job posting, which take advantage of own resources and proximity reducing energy dependence and the import of oil and gas. The pellet industries cannot be relocated and they are all in small municipalities that fill them with life.

Calls for grants for investment in thermal and electric energy production facilities from renewable sources, co-financed with ERDF funds, have been opened in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Principality of Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, La Rioja, Madrid, Melilla, Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community. Undoubtedly, the 15th edition of FITECMA, to be held from July 14 to 17, 2021, at the Costa Salguero Center, in the City of Buenos Aires, will present a completely renewed profile. The inclusion of new thematic areas and the development of special activities will allow working on the concept of including the entire chain of the forest industry. Allocating a specific area to Bioenergy (biomass, technology and materials for the generation of thermal energy) goes in that direction.
Renewable energies continue to bring socio-economic benefits by creating numerous jobs around the world. The sector reached 11,5 million jobs globally in 2019, around 500.000 more than the previous year. These are the figures published by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in the seventh edition of Renewable Energy and Jobs - Annual Review.
The wood components factory located in Torelló, Spain, has taken an important step towards carbon neutrality thanks to a new biomass plant. From now on, Quadpack Wood will use its own wood waste to generate power for its dryers and heating and air conditioning systems, thus eliminating the need for fossil fuels.
The Junta de Extremadura has approved aid for the start-up of three biomass pellet production plants in Moraleja, Caminomorisco and Herrera del Duque. What will be the main characteristics?
The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), has approved the first calls for aid from the package to finance innovative projects of renewable technologies. More than 181 million euros will be allocated to support initiatives in seven regions of Spain:
Calordom, one of the Energy Services Companies specialized in supplying RENEWABLE HEATING with biomass to neighboring communities, already serves 27.000 families in the country with a growth of 40% in the last five years.
The IDAE has approved the first calls for the package of 316 million to finance innovative projects of renewable technologies in Andalusia, Principality of Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, Madrid and Murcia. The distribution of the first 181 million euros of the package has been agreed with the autonomous communities and will serve to mobilize an additional private investment of about 551 million in electricity and thermal generation projects, generate local employment and avoid the emission of more than 712.000 equivalent tons of CO2 per year.
Lithuania and its 3 million inhabitants were heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels from Russia. In 2014, when Lithuania became an EU Member State, it paid the highest price for imported gas, a price considered "political" as it was not comparable to the market situation.
From the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) and the Spanish Association of Wood Pellet Production Companies (APROPELLETS) we report that bioenergy professionals continue to work to guarantee the supply of clean energy
Located in the Polígono El Bayo de Cubillos del Sil, the technical process has been completed and it will be able to start producing in the coming weeks. The power plant will produce 290 megawatts of renewable and clean electricity enough to supply 83.000 homes.
From the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) and the Spanish Association of Wood Pellet Production Companies (APROPELLETS) we want to convey to society that bioenergy professionals will continue to work to guarantee the supply of clean and renewable energy to all users. .
