The Volvo engine factory in Skövde (Sweden) becomes the first factory of the company without impact on the climate. The Swedish brand is thus approaching its goal of zero emissions in all its factories for 2025.

Sustainability Director Stuart Templar said that 'with our plan for all new Volvos launched from 2019 to be electric, climate-free manufacturing processes are going to significantly reduce our carbon footprint as part of the effort to solve climate change ”.

Volvo has other achievements in terms of reducing emissions in its factories. For example, in 2016, the factory in Ghent, Belgium, adopted a district heating system that reduced carbon emissions by an 40%, avoiding 15.000 tons of CO2 per year.
