The maximum price of the butane cylinder once the taxes are included is the May 16, a new rise of the 5%up to 14,18 euros, and will accumulate increases of 26% since July last year, according to a resolution of the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda published this Monday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

Sources of the sector have explained to Europa Press that this increase will not be enough to cover all the commercialization costs of the operators. In fact, there will continue to be a income deficit that will be taken into account when reviewing prices in the following two-month periods. With the new rise, butane accumulates five bimonthly revisions upwards with respect to the level set by the Government in July of 2016, of 11,25 euros.

The regulated price affects the butane cylinders most commonly used by households, containers with a load equal to or greater than 8 kilograms and less than 20 kilos, whose tare is greater than 9 kilos.

On the other hand, the price of pellets remains the same and stable not only since July of 2016, but also since the prices are analyzed in the Domestic Biofuels Price Index in Spain for the final customer that makes quarterly AVEBIOM. The differential fact is that the energy cost of the butane cylinder is 0,089 € / kWh compared to 0,055 € / kWh the pellet bag, which means that homes that use pellets, besides generating employment in our regions and not contributing to the Climate Change, they save almost an 40% on the price of heating with butane.
