The International Bioenergy Congress -CIB- will dedicate its 14th edition to reviewing the solutions that solid biomass and renewable gas contribute to the change in the energy model in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America and the challenges that arise to achieve their full incorporation into the mix energetic.
Sustainability, digitization and market opportunities will have special significance at the congress. In addition to having their specific blocks, they will permeate most of the topics proposed in this edition of the CIB.
PRESENTIAL AND DIGITAL EVENT
In 2021, the International Bioenergy Congress is planned as a mixed face-to-face and digital event with the aim of facilitating access to the largest possible number of professionals and interested parties in the biomass and renewable gas sector from the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America.
They are grouped in 12 thematic blocks of 120 minutes and will take place in the afternoon in Spain and in the morning in America, from 15:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m. CEST during the 3 days, from September 21 to 23.
The challenge of Sustainability in Bioenergy
Speakers from Bioenergy Europe, PEFC, the SURE certification system and the energy company ENSO will explain on Tuesday, September 21, how the transposition of the REDII directive will affect each of the members of the bioenergy value chain.
Digitization, practices with a future for bioenergy
Technologies such as blockchain, IoT, artificial intelligence, virtual or augmented reality, simulators and digital twins can have interesting applications in different areas of the bioenergy business. The Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0-DIHBU and the companies Redytel IoT, Syltec, Fmc Forestal and Electroingenium will share some keys for companies to implement them successfully.
Implementation of biomass and bioenergy in Latin America
Bioenergy, due to its versatility and availability, is essential in the new energy models in Latin America. The increase in social sensitivity is driving the establishment of regulations that ensure their sustainability. Three sessions will describe the implementation of biomass and bioenergy in several Latin American countries, analyzing the implementation of biomass in the energy market and the regulatory framework with speakers from Uruguay, Peru, Paraguay, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico. , Chile Argentina and Spain
Renewable gas market: challenges and opportunities
Wednesday 22 is the day a panel of experts made up of speakers from AEBIG, AXPO, Engie, Naturgy and Suma Capital will discuss the opportunities presented in Spain, where several biomethane projects are making good progress.
Current technology for Renewable Gas
In the second session of the afternoon, the latest research and innovations related to the use of biogas and biomethane for energy uses will be presented by AEBIG and speakers from the University of Valladolid and the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
Formulas for the expansion of agrobiomass
The first block on Thursday 23 will be dedicated to agrobiomass; It will present, through applied cases, the keys to unlocking this type of biofuel with great potential but still underused. We will have the presence of speakers from the CERTH- Research Center, the National Center for Renewable Energies CENER and the companies ENCE, Bioliza Sugimat and Compte_R.
Innovation in industrial heat generation
The day will conclude with a block dedicated to innovation in industrial heat generation, with speakers from ENSO, Vyncke, Imartec, Kolbach Fundación CIRCE and AESA.
Research and technology in biomass and bioenergy in Latin America (3)
There will be three sessions dedicated to the most current scientific research in Latin America that will highlight technological innovation for the conversion of biomass resources into fuels for the industrial and domestic sectors, the logistics for the collection and concentration of biomass waste for its transformation into biofuels and the most appropriate conversion technologies. These sessions will have speakers from Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Spain.
