The Arán Valley (Lleida) uses the wood from the area's forests to feed the two new biomass boilers installed in the Vielha hospital. The project has generated a socioeconomic impact thanks to the generation of jobs and favoring the efficient management of forest resources, one of the pending challenges in the area.

The project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and with which the Aranese Health and Welfare Service joins the use of forest biomass for thermal uses in public buildings, is part of the FOREST4LOCAL program of the Lleida Provincial Council , whose objective is to develop a system that allows for more sustainable management of public forests and the use of biomass for energy supply.

The two boilers HERZ firematic 300 supplied by Thermosun offer a total power of 600 kW and provide heating in the Vielha hospital using forest chip G50.
