Solid biofuels gain ground to diesel, which has become more expensive 22%. The sector generated 427 jobs in 2017 and invoiced 46 million in the community.

The use of thermal biomass to heat homes, public facilities or companies is advancing strongly in Aragon and is established as an alternative to fossil fuels, such as diesel or natural gas, whose price does not stop growing. At the end of 2017, a total of 8.508 technologically advanced heating equipment (stoves and boilers) powered with this vegetable fuel were operating in the community, according to data from the annual report prepared by the Spanish Association for the Energy Valorization of Biomass (Avebiom), a through observatoriobiomasa.es. This figure represents an annual increase of 24%, one point above the national average (23%), which shows the dynamism of the sector in this territory.

The strength of the "technified" heating biomass has resulted in a turnover of almost 46 million in the Aragonese community due to the impulse, mainly, of the acceleration in the installation of new equipment and in the supply of fuel. In addition, this activity employs 427 people, according to 2017 data, that is, the 17,17% plus, two points above the national average.
