NASUVINSA INSTALLES THE FIRST BOILER OF BIOMASS IN ITS PARK OF PUBLIC HOUSING FOR RENT

Nasuvinsa, the public housing company of the Government of Navarra, has begun to take the first effective steps in its public housing park to replace conventional gas boilers with facilities supplied by forest biomass.

The first biomass boiler is located in one of its rental housing developments in Sarriguren. The engineering installation consisted in the installation of a new boiler of 300 kW, of the firm HERZ, which will be present at Expobiomasa 2019 presenting its news.  The biomass boiler will act as the main boiler, and will maintain the other two gas reserves as timely support to supply 51 with two sheltered rental blocks located on the Avenida Reino de Navarra in Sarriguren.

This network of heating and hot water, by using biomass, apart from the important energy saving, also guarantees a considerable reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, calculated as a decrease of 2,5 tons of CO2 per residential block.

It is a pilot project to extend its use to the new promotions of more than half a thousand rental housing that has already begun to be built within the framework of the Navarra Social Housing plan, as well as to promote its application among the private residential park.

NASUVINSA is an entity committed to the sustainable and local use of biomass for energy purposes. In fact, its work was already recognized in 2016 by the Spanish Association for the Energy Valorization of Biomass with the “Fomenta la Bioenergía” award.
