The rector of the University of Valladolid receives the award 'Fosters the Xenum Xenergy'

The Secretary General of Agriculture and Food of the MAPAMA, Carlos Cabanas Godino, presented the national award 'Fomenta la Bioenergía 2017' to the rector of the University of Valladolid, Daniel Miguel San José, at the opening ceremony of Expobiomasa.

The University of Valladolid has received this award, which is organized by the Spanish Association for Energy Efficiency of Biomass, AVEBIOM, for its actions and investments aimed at promoting the energy benefits of biomass.

The jury of the different candidates presented wanted to value the bet of the University of Valladolid for biomass with the development of different university degrees on aspects related to bioenergy and energy efficiency and sustainability, as well as the installation of systems energy sources based on biomass for the different campuses of the University.

In addition, it has also recognized the "enormous work of teachers and technicians, both training and awareness among their students and other members of the national and international educational community, the benefits of these energy facilities with biomass used in the various units of that academic institution".

In previous editions they have received the 'Promotes Bioenergy' award the City Council of Tarrasa (2010), IDAE (2011), the Energy Agency of Andalusia (2012), the Junta de Castilla y León (2013), the Office of Climate Change of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (2014), the Xunta de Galicia (2015) and NASUVINSA (Navarra de Suelo and Housing) (2016).
