He did it in 2016, which is where the data come from the new statistical report prepared by the European employers' association of the sector: Bioenergy Europe, before Aebiom. The rest of the conclusions are repeated with respect to other years: bioenergy as a whole is the main source of renewable energy in the European Union, dominates the thermal generation, imports only four percent of biofuels, Germany leads the production of primary energy and Spain remains in eighth place.
