The Aranda de Duero biomass heat network will begin service this month

Aranda de Duero heat network scheme

The technicians of the Heat Network with Biomass of Aranda de Duero have carried out during the last weeks the functional tests to start giving services at the end of this month of September. “Everything has gone as planned, the tests are satisfactory at the central and we are already able to supply the thermal energy that We produce from biomass”Acknowledges Javier Jiménez, one of those responsible for the commercial team of the promoter.

The Aranda de Duero Heat Network will supply heating and hot water to 4.600 homes and 30 public buildings in the Arandina city. A total of 12 megawatts of installed power will generate 45,5 million kilowatts of thermal energy in a plant that will consume 13.500 tons of local biomass per year. Connected buildings 14.700 will stop emitting CO2 tons into the atmosphere with a creation of 40 jobs between direct and indirect.

The connection does not imply no extra cost or spill for neighbors because the small work in the boiler room is the responsibility of the company, while the consumer it only pays for the thermal energy of biomass it consumes. The consumption is measured individually with a kilowatt meter placed on the landing of the portal and it is not necessary that the cabin has any other equipment or boiler.
