The stoves and boilers of biomass avoided in 2018 the emission of more than 4,1 million tons of CO2

The world's leading companies will bring to Expobiomasa the latest innovations in terms of emission reduction and control.

The almost 300.000 heating installations with technified biomass in Spain prevented the emission of 4.157.319 tons of CO2 that negatively affect Climate Change. These are the emissions from the substitution of the use of fossil fuels, such as diesel and natural gas, for a Renewable Energy such as biomass, whose emissions are neutral in terms of the emission of greenhouse gases. They are 2018 data published in www.observatoriobiomasa.es coinciding with the celebration of World Environment Day.

The total number of tons of CO2 is equivalent to the theoretical withdrawal of circulation from around 2,8 million cars, approximately 12% of those circulating in Spain at the end of 2018.

This new sector generated a business in 2018 870 millones de euros, almost an 2% more than the previous year, and employs 9.600 people, an 11% more. In addition, it has allowed to avoid the import of an equivalent to 1.570 million liters of diesel.

EXPOBIOMASA 2019

On the occasion of the ten years of activity of the Biomass Observatory, Avebiom will present a report on the evolution of the sector and its contribution to the fight against the emission of greenhouse gases from the use of fossil fuels, such as diesel or natural gas, which negatively affect climate change. The presentation will be made within the framework of Expobiomasa 2019.

During the September fair, in Valladolid, the latest innovations, solutions and strategies for emissions in the sector will be presented: new wood-burning fireplaces, pellet stoves and biomass boilers that use the regulations ECODESING they more than meet with emissions well below the limits established by the legislation in force and the one foreseen; teams of condensation e hybridizations of biomass with other renewable energies, microcogeneración, including biomass stoves and boilers adapted to the new concepts of buildings with almost zero energy consumption with an exhaustive emission control and a highly efficient energy consumption.
