ENSO and GARCÍA-CARRÍÓN promote a new thermal generation project of 10.000 tons of biomass

The plant will have an annual consumption of approximately 10.000 tons of biomass

ENSO has signed with GARCIA-CARRION, the first winery in Europe and fourth in the world, an agreement for the construction of a biomass plant for thermal supply under the modality energy service company (ESE) which will cover 100% of the thermal demand of GARCÍA-CARRÍÓN's production processes at its Don Simón plant in Huelva.

It will involve the commissioning of a biomass plant at the end of the first half of 2023. The plant will produce renewable thermal energy, more than 50.000 tons of saturated steam and will have an annual consumption of approximately 10.000 tons of biomass. Thus, ENSO will cover 100% of the thermal demand of the industrial process of this plant through the use of totally sustainable biomass and under the scheme of SURE certification, which guarantees compliance with all the requirements established by Directive (EU) 2018/2001 on Renewable Energies and Royal Decree 376/2022, which regulates the criteria for sustainability and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of biofuels, bioliquids and biomass fuels.

Through the energy services company model, ENSO provides a solution that adapts to your decarbonization plan, replacing your traditional natural gas boilers with biomass boilers, by avoiding more than 8.000 tons of CO emissions2 per year.

ENSO and SURE participated in the previous edition of EXPOBIOMASA
