The Heat Network with Biomass for the heating supply of the Presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León, in Valladolid, has already nine months of successful operation, since November of 2018. The project, promoted by the Regional Energy Entity of Catilla and León (EREN), was awarded to the company REBI. It is a heat distribution network through thermal energy in the premises of the Ministry of Presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León, has an investment of 539.844 euros.

The installed power amounts to 1.500 kW, and the consumption of wood pellets is estimated at 190 tons per year. The new biomass network has three 500 kW boilers for operation by the Austrian firm HERZ, present at Expobiomasa 2019, to supply eight Presidency buildings, through a pipe network of 476 meters in double direction.

Two substations equipped with plate exchangers have been installed to enable heat transfer between the water that flows through the network heated in the biomass boiler room, and the water of the different heating circuits of the buildings. The new heat network means a new opportunity to improve cities as Valladolid and be responsible for compliance with the emission reduction that affect the Climate Change required by the European directive 2018 / 844 and the implementation of a sustainable energy model of energy efficiency.
