Athenea installs one of the most powerful boilers in the Community and will save 1.000 equivalent annual tons of oil

The General Director of IVACE, Júlia Company, accompanied by the General Director of Fire Prevention, Delia Álvarez, visited two biomass projects supported by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), within the framework of the Program for the Promotion of Renewable Energy carried out to promote the use of renewable energy in the Valencian Community.

They visited the textile company Athenea, located in Villena, where a biomass boiler to supply the thermal needs of its production process (generation of steam and hot process water) that has received a subsidy of 100.000 euros from the IVACE. The boiler has a power of three megawatts, which makes it one of the most powerful biomass boilers in the Valencian Community. This power, together with the high operating intensity of the manufacturing process, means that it saves up to an equivalent consumption of more than 1.000 equivalent tons of oil per year and prevents the emission into the atmosphere of more than 2.500 tons of CO2 per year.
