The housing counselor visits the building, whose deep rehabilitation has just finished and leaves 47 habitable homes with the latest building techniques.

The group of houses of Txabarri 25-31 was promoted in 1890 by Ricardo Vildosala Arrarte, notary public of Sestao and then it was already a project of magnitude, prototype of the houses of workers rent of the time. However, over the years and its poor state of preservation made necessary an intervention that improved its appearance and its conditions of habitability and healthiness. These works have required a budget of 3,7 million euros to achieve the goal, a money that has been put between the Basque Government, the City of Sestao and the European project EU-GUGLE.

Now, the building has energy certification A, has a rainwater recovery system and the acoustic insulation of its partition is made with recycled fabrics from Koopera clothing containers, cooperative of insertion of people at risk of exclusion .

In addition, different measures have been adopted to reduce the energy demand of homes that, on the other hand, will reuse the gray water from showers and toilets to load the cisterns of the toilets. As an energy system, biomass has been chosen, specifically for wood pellets.
