Biogastur, a pioneering project for waste energy recovery

recovery of waste from the dairy industry

BIOGASTUR is a renewable energy project development company that is carrying out a pioneering project in Europe, a waste recovery plant that will be capable of Transform up to 1.200 tons per day of cow dung and by-products of the dairy industry in green energy and high quality fertilizer for the fields.

The concept of the plant is the centralization of waste management of a large number of dairy farms that CLAS has in Asturias, up to 365.000 tons of cattle slurry, a quantity of waste that currently the farmers themselves have no capacity to manage adequately. The plant will also process and recover waste from CLAS's own dairies, such as sewage sludge and milk whey.

The plant will reduce the environmental impact of this waste to the minimum, for it will integrate in the process various systems and the most efficient technologies such as anaerobic digestion for biogas production, wastewater treatment or high efficiency cogeneration, which are integrated for the first time in a large facility for the centralized management of slurry.
